About the job

As a Laundry Supervisor you are responsible to oversee the team of linen and uniform attendants towards achieving the operational objectives while ensuring that the hotels operational standards are met.

Additionally responsible for managing overall daily operations of the linen and laundry rooms. Also ensure quality controls are in place and manage customer service inquiries.

Your day to day

  • Oversees the implementation of laundry standards and procedures.
  • Recommends changes to these standards and training needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Maintains a current and thorough knowledge of all laundry systems.
  • Checks all logbooks and performs the adequate follow-up.
  • Fills the checklists and follows-up on any discrepancy.
  • Directs task allocations and change according to volume and peak periods.
  • Performs quality inspections.
  • Ensures laundry valet is processed and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates special projects such as equipment routine service and stock inventories.
  • Ensures consistency within the Department to maintain the best quality and a high productivity.
  • Controls the Department costs by maintaining adequate stock levels and detergents consumption.
  • Follows-up with the Laundry Technician on the daily maintenance and proper up keeping of all Laundry equipment to ensure the running of a smooth operation.
  • Maintains a strong work relationship with all Laundry colleagues by frequently communicating with them.
  • Conducts shift briefings to ensure Hotel activities and operational requirements are known.
  • Demonstrates understanding and awareness of all company Policies and procedures relating to Health, Hygiene and Fire Life Safety.
  • Performs related duties and other projects as assigned.

What we need from you

  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum 2 year experience in a similar role.
  • Good English communication skills are essential both oral and written.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with Hotel Property Management System, Opera
  • Proactive with a meticulous eye for detail, strong organizational, supervisory and communication skills
  • Able to convey information and ideas clearly (Communication)
  • Ability to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
  • Must be able to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work well with limited supervision
